Online Baccarat Guide
Baccarat is a highly popular game at both online and real casinos. It has a great tradition and really dates back to Italy in the fifteenth century.Baccarat is a highly popular game at both online and real casinos which you will find at www.OnlineBaccarat.net. It is also a game that is extremely popular with the real high rollers who think little of playing with a £million bankroll, but it is also enjoyable to play with low stakes online. There is more than one version of baccarat and each version has subtle differences. In an online casino you will come across Baccarat Chemin de Fer; Baccarat Banquet; and Punto Banco. As an example we will describe the last one in a little detail.

The shoe generally contains six decks of cards and there are two positions (in the casino these could be players, however, online just think of them as positions). These are the banker and the player. Two cards are dealt to each face up and the scores of each hand are shown. Tens through to kings score zero, aces are counted as 1, and the other cards are scored according to their face value. If the sum of the cards is greater than 9 then the first digit is dropped, so if the cards were 9 and 7 making 16 the actual score would be 6.
If either banker or player has 8 or 9 no more cards are dealt. If the player has 5 or under then he takes another card; if not and the banker has 5 or under then the banker takes an additional card.
If the card drawn by the player was a 2 or 3 and the banker’s score was under 4 the banker takes an additional card. If the player’s card was 4 or 5 and the banker’s score was 5 or under then the banker also takes a card. If the player’s card was a 6 or 7 and the banker’s score was 6 or under the banker takes another card. If the player’s card was an 8 and the banker’s score was 2 or under the banker takes another card, and if the player’s card was a face card, or a 9, 10 or ace, the banker takes another card.
Scores are again added up and the winner is the one with the highest score; alternatively if both scares are the same then a tie is declared.
You don’t have to remember the complex rules as the cards will be sorted out automatically by the casino software, however, you should know what is going on. You simply bet on either the banker or the player or on a tie. Winners are paid even money and ties are paid at 8 to 1. There is a small casino rake from winning banker bets.
